Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
CBT or Cognitive Behavioral Theory is a type of therapy that addresses cognitions (thoughts), emotions (feelings) and behaviors (actions). CBT is proven effective and helps to restructure our negative thinking patterns which affect how we feel (both mentally and physically) and the actions we take. Cognitive restructuring can increase how you react to certain situations, or to certain people. It can also improve our self-esteem, manage more effectively our depression and anxiety, or in some cases actually dissipate symptoms completely.
CBT has been proven to be one of the most effective treatments for many issues such as depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and bipolar. Medication management to help with compliance is also provided if you are working with a psychiatrist.
